Make room for play
In music, when someone performs, when someone is offering a beautiful tune at their peak level, they're playing their instrument. They are not working when they are performing. In this context, playing is higher than working.
Now, life takes work. It’s not easy to overcome discord. It’s not easy to silence selfishness, greed, laziness and lust—in Biblical language “the carnal mind.” But as one increases their ability to love and see harmony they must play with it. Creativity, original thought and love are playful. They're not laborious. They're spontaneous.
I hope we all incorporate more play into our day. More spontaneous love and creativity. More love for Life’s sake.
“Life is the spontaneity of Love.” –Mary Baker Eddy
