No endings in Life
I hadn't spoken to a certain friend in several months, but for no apparent reason a little angel message told me that I needed to drop a line and let him know that all was well. That was a month or so ago. This week he called and told me how much that meant to him. His mother had passed on suddenly and he got my message at just the right time. Knowing that someone was thinking about him prayerfully helped him turn to a Christian Science perspective on things. Even though my friend was new to Christian Science, he understood that its view on death is "there are no endings in God." Many see death as an end or a transition. But to God, divine Life, death is nowhere. To Life, all is Life all the time. The Bible says, "[Life] will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces" (Isaiah 25:8). And Jesus said that "anyone who obeys my teaching will never die!" (John 8:51, NLT).
My friend was able to overcome his grief and he's moving forward harmoniously and relying on Jesus' teachings more than ever. We are all headed from Life to Life. There are no endings in God, divine Life. We'll see less death and more of Life as the light of unending Love dawns on us with prayer.
"The universal belief in death is of no advantage. It cannot make Life or Truth apparent. Death will be found at length to be a mortal dream, which comes in darkness and disappears with the light." -Mary Baker Eddy
